Care

During a beach or pool day, your swimwear will be exposed to chemicals and substances that can damage the elasticity of the fabric fibers, including saltwater, chlorine, sunscreen and dirt.
One of the most fundamental steps in caring for your swimwear is to rinse it with cold tap water after wearing it. If the swimming pool or beach has cold outdoor showers, you can rinse off there.
We recommend that you do not wring the swimwear, but lay it flat to dry – and dry it out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.

Washing

Wash your Petit Crabe swimwear inside out by hand or in cold water (40 degrees) with mild soap.
Do not soak, bleach, tumble dry, dry clean or iron.
Instead of twisting the swimwear, gently press out excess water after washing.
Lay it flat to dry on a towel. Don’t put a swimsuit in the dryer, as the extreme heat will weaken the elasticity of the fabric.
Swimwear should be completely dry before storing.

Sand stains

If you experience that your swimwear looks spotty after use, it may be grains of dark sand stuck in the fabric fibers. It is quite common for this type of swimwear. Wait untill the clothes is dry, stretch the fabric a bit in the affected area, and turn it downwards so the sand can fall out.
If needed, brush off the sand with your hand or with a fingernail.

Other useful tips

# Let sunscreen on uncovered skin absorb properly before putting on the swimwear – it prevents stains on the swimwear.

# Shower before swimming in the pool reduces the amount of chlorine it absorbs. A wet suit has no more room to soak up additional water.

# Avoid contact with rough surfaces. Sitting and/or rubbing against textured pool decks or rough edges or objects can ruin the smooth texture of your swimwear.
